Local Beekeepers Serving Hershey
We're based in Hummelstown, just a few minutes west of Hershey — close enough for true same-day response and familiar with the homes, neighborhoods, and tree-lined streets across 17033. From Reese Avenue to Cocoa Avenue to the older homes around the original chocolate town, we handle honeybee removals for Hershey homeowners every season.
What We See in Hershey
Hershey has a mix of original early-20th-century company-town homes and decades of newer development. The older housing stock is especially prone to wall and soffit colonies because honey bees love the wood-frame cavities and undisturbed wall spaces.
- Wall colonies in pre-WWII frame homes around the borough core
- Chimney and attic colonies in older homes with disused fireplaces
- Soffit colonies in the ranch and Cape Cod homes built between 1950–1975
- Tree colonies in the mature oak/maple canopy throughout greater Hershey
We Don't Exterminate
Some pest companies in the Hershey area still spray honeybees. We don't, and we don't recommend it. A poisoned colony left in a wall causes worse damage than the bees ever did — abandoned honeycomb attracts ants and rodents, and untreated honey can leak through drywall for months. Live removal is the cleaner long-term fix.
Every colony we collect in Hershey goes home with us to our apiaries, gets a new hive, and keeps doing what bees are meant to do.
